The classic and original Skyline Studios NYC, which catered to the likes of David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Madonna, Bonnie Raitt, Nile Rodgers, Miles Davis, Mariah Carey, Wu Tang Clan and many many others, has been upgraded and updated with a brand new look and format for the new millennium. Running the operations are Jonathan Mover, producer/drummer/composer whose credits range from Aretha Franklin, Shakira, Alice Cooper and GTR to Joe Satriani, Fuel and Everlast, and producer/engineer Ron Allaire, whose credits include Fuel, Avril Lavigne, Keith Richards and The Ramones to name a few. Together they cover a wide range of the music industry, making Skyline an ideal state-of-the-art recording studio and music environment.

 

 

In a time when the state of the music industry has seen much better days, why is Skyline flourishing when many other studios are are in dire straits and/or closing their doors. We at Skyline, feel there are a few reasons for our good fortune.

1. Plain and simply put, Skyline does not screw or cheat their clients! Whether signed or unsigned, mega star or local, we treat all of our clients equally. Unlike many studios who will pad their bills with erroneous charges, work a session slow for extra time on the clock or mark up their media by 100% or more, Skyline has not, will not, nor will we ever play that game. Each artist/client signs off at the end of their session, knowing exactly how much time was put in and what charges were incurred. No surprises later on!

2. With Skyline, what you see is what you get! Unlike many studios who show you a control room full of gear, with an equipment list a mile long, what they don't tell you is that many of those pieces are rentals and not included in the price. You find out after you've given your deposit, that the room is now partially full or after you've used some particular pieces on your session and find the charges on your invoice.

3. All our gear works! With a full time in-house technician, Skyline makes sure that all our equipment is always in top working condition. Unlike other studios who offer discounted rates for the room 'as is', you don't realize, until too late, that the recording you just made is wrought with defects, from noise and poor signal flow to missing channels and defective media.

4. At Skyline, the client always comes first! Each and everyone in our staff is professional, respectful, polite and there to cater to your needs.

 

Skyline offers it's clients a variety of personnel to cover any and/or all aspects of their needs. From basic engineering and mixing, to full on production, editing, pre-mix preparation, mastering and arranging/composing. No job is too small or too big, whether it's a 2 track analog, 48 track digital recording or a voice over reel, we're happy to help. Need players...? We can supply and coordinate the booking of studio musicians, ranging from backing vocals and guitars to horns, strings and steel drums, as well as professional photography, artwork, CD manufacture and duplication, layout and design...
